After months of preparation, we're proud to announce that LandLink was selected as a recipient of the Mercer Innovation Center Next Big Idea Contest! Aaron and Brandon pitched to a packed room and three distinguished judges from the local community. It was a great experience to see so many inspired young entrepreneurs presenting their ideas, including a rainwater capture generator and fair-trade Ecuadorean coffee roaster. At the end of the contest LandLink was recognized as runner up, receiving $2,500 in seed funding from the BB&T Center to help cover the initial expenses of the business. We just wanted to take this chance to thank everyone involved in planning the Next Big Idea, our great judges (including our newest LandLink founder, Andrew Eck), and of course Mercer University for encouraging students to pursue their ideas. Our next steps include filing our articles of incorporation and pursuing initial intellectual property protection for LandLink, so that we can continue developing the website and blockchain technology that will enable us to help governments protect land titles. Aaron, Brandon, and now Andrew are hard at work designing the software architecture and look forward to more exciting announcements to come!
